Barry, kan je mij uitleggen waarom Amerikanen zo nationalistisch zijn en waarom New Orleans nog steeds een puinhoop, want dát zou in Nederland ondenkbaar zijn.

You probably have more answers to that than I do. Honestly, I wouldn't know, and the only reason I can think of is because New Orleans was a dump before and its just an uninhabited dump now. I've been to New Orleans a few times and other parts of Louisiana, the whole state is just one big abandoned city. Its one of the poorer states in the US and rebuilding it so that the poorer part of the population can move back might not seem all that necessary or even worth it. Most of the Louisiana residents moved over to Houston in Texas where they (and this I've heard from family and friends back home) they just cause more trouble there and its causing a whole stirup between Texans and Louisiana "immigrants"

When you see "downtown" on tv and in the movies, you see it from a distance in all its glory, the high buildings, the shining glass in the sunlight, but when you drive through the streets below, its a crap hole you wouldn't believe. Its not the glamor you'd expect, its actually one of the parts of town (at least in Houston) you do NOT want to walk around or even drive through after dark if you can help it.

America is a superpower nation because they spent all their money on improving the life for some and then forgetting about the rest. For the rest of the world, no, from a Dutch person's perspective, the whole system is just wrong.

I only miss the big engines, the cheap gas, the late hours stores are open till and Starbucks coffee, other than that I need a pretty solid reason to ever go back.

Anyway, back on topic; Top Gear Rules!

zoals ik begrepen heb gaat het economisch ook al een tijdje niet goed, zeker na alles wat over de balk wordt gesmeten door o.a. de oorlog in het oosten.

Mensen lopen allemaal op krediet, dat kan toch niet goed blijven gaan?....

Ik heb die torrent (de 350mb versie) kunnen downloaden. Met wat kan ik dit nu afspelen? Mijn pc kent het bestandsformaat niet.

Anders even een zg. Torrent client installeren, dan kan je wel die bestanden downloaden. Ikzelf ben al een tijdje tevreden bezig met ABC (yet Another Bittorrent Client) klik klak

Bedankt voor de reacties. Ik heb µTorrent gedownload en vervolgens het bestand gedownload.
Ik denk dat het probleem te verklaren is door dit zinnetje "This is indeed a Vuk rip and not a scene rip re-encode! ". Maar ik heb geen flauw benul wat een vuk rip is.

Kapitalisme. Vrije markt economie. Een beter systeem is R momenteel niet. Kijk naar ongeveer 1.000 maatschappelijke ontwikkelingen van de afgelopen jaren. Eerst veroordelen we de VS, een paar jaar later zitten we met hier met exact hetzelfde...

Ah, ok. Vrij logisch
Het probleem is dus dat er geen bestandsformaat bijstaat als ik het gedownload heb. Bij eerdere versies (ben ik nu ook aan't downloaden) krijg ik als extensie .avi en dat kent mijn pc dus wel. (Daar staat trouwens bij "This is a re-encode of RiVER's 700MB rip.") Anders moet ik de 700Mb versie maar eens proberen.

oh dat heb ik ook wel eens gehad. wat je dan doet is rechtermuisknop ---> naam wijzigen ---> en vervolgens gewoon .avi of .wmv erachter zetten.

Je mist codecs die bestanden herkennen op je pc. Ace Mega codecs lost dit op. Aub geheel installeren, de prof versie...en je hebt alles in huis om dit soort movies te kijken op verschillende players:

Je mist codecs die bestanden herkennen op je pc.

Als je niet zo'n mega-pack wilt installeren (=zo heeft "Nimo" bij mij itunes verkracht) kan je ook G-Spot downloaden - dit stukkie software vertelt je precies welke codec er gebruikt is, en of het wel of niet op jouw pc gaat werken. Vervolgens kan je op zoek gaan naar alleen de codec die er nodig is. G-spot vindt je hier
