Hey, figured I'ld ask you all to maybe keep an eye out, my 2007 S60R was stolen last night from my house. It's TiGrey (Gobi inside) and might have the NL Plate with the BN-84.. or a red plate with AJU400.
The car has 18" Pegs, a FMIC, rear window and deck spoilers and a TME downpipe and exhaust. Don't know if any of you work in auto shops or maybe you'll see it on the street or something, if you do, ** please ** drop me a line. I loved my car and would like to get it back.

Yeah.. that's what my friends at work are joking about.. Give 'em 10 hours and you can be across Germany and into the Eastern countries with no problems. Might be nice to have a way to scan speed cameras for plates and go from there.

Maak er helaas geen grappen over :-\ als ze het al met een 60 Tons telekraan redden,gaat het met zo een sportbolide helemaal makkelijk lukken,vervelend maar waar.

It can also be used for a planned hold up, here in Belgium they did it one year ago with a highly tuned S60 T5 ... :-\

They aren't really a type of car that is a common target for commercial car thieves, much more useful as a getaway vehicle most of the time :eusa_wall:

Saw it was stolen in Rotterdam..I work a lot with containerforwarders will sent out an email to peeps working in the Rotterdam, Antwerp and Amsterdam harbour. You never know.

Dit soort auto's verlaat ons land niet gauw als 1 product; die worden in de nabije omgeving van de diefstal in onderdelen gelegd/omgekat danwel ergens gestald (lees: in een woonwijk of garagebox geparkeerd) om 'af te koelen', waarna er enige tijd later rottigheid mee uitgehaald kan worden.
Houdt Opsporing Verzocht maar een beetje in de gaten...
Dit is ook handig om even te controleren of er 'bekende onderdelen' voorbijkomen, zo ooit een VDO-navi-schermpje teruggevonden...

30 days? Wow. How did that work? Was it left in a warehouse and then the police raided the place? That's impressive and congrats! If I stole a car, you can believe I would be driving it somewhere else or selling it off. That's just wild.
If I get it back and there's only a few hundred miles on it, that would be groovy (And I would totally do an inspection), but once the insurance cuts a check to me, I don't know what happens if it's found after that.
I guess that the insurance owns the car onces th've paid you.... :-\

Of zou hij dan volgens de verzekering toch meer waard zijn :eusa_whistle:
waarschijnlijk staat in je voorwaarden dat je na 30 dagen je geld krijgt en geen eigenaar meer bent. Maar met de markt nu raken zij de auto ook niet kwijt dus heb je nog best een kansje.

My car was found on a parking place in a village about 30 km's from my hometown. People called the police when it was standing there for two weeks. The only things that were missing was my I-pod, and my Parrot car kit all the papers were still inside.
Just before I got my car back, I bought an S70 R which I still own. The 850 R is was bought by a friend of mine who is not driving it now. (it's stored in a barn)
After 30 days normally your insurance will pay; your insurance will call when the vehicle is recovered later on. You then still have a choice in buying back the car (minus damage-costs when all-risk insurance) and always get a chance getting your personal stuff back which might be in or on the vehicle.
In some cases the 30 days are extended for longer investigation, mostly when there are clues which indicate the car will be returned in a short notice or if the insurance can give reasonable doubt on the circumstances around the theft (like: stolen without keys from a closed area on the back of a house where only the owner has the key and all locks seem unharmed. Smells like fraude.).

Thanks everyone for their concern, I just wanted to give an update.
As of now, no one has seen the car and the police have nothing new. In the next few days my insurance will be sending me a check which will cover the cost of the car and some of the cost of the modifications, so I am completely happy with the result (all things considered). Since I'm not sure if I'll be here past the fall, I'm holding off on buying a new toy until I know more. After seeing how the 850's run at The Ring, i would really like to get one for a few years of fun.

**UPDATE** The car (as verified with the GJIB photo) has been seen between Utrecht and Rotterdam. It received two tickets from the 28th of May and June 1st. The car is still in the country and in the Rotterdam area (how wild is that).
The Police have been notified about it and are putting notes into their daily briefings.
I'm leaving within 20 minutes for Spaanse Polder, who knows...

Well, I got paid off by the insurance, but if they can recover the car, I would buy it back from them. No question. It's still stolen and belongs to the insurance now, I'll just try and get first dibs on it.

Hej, what a shame you lost your car, and on top of it; it's still driving around, what seems without action of the coppers.
I live in rotterdam, and offcourse I will keep my eyes open, and will even follow the car if I spot it.
