After a few years in a smaller size, VROM now is back in the famous three-day event, 12th -14th August 2011. Behind VROM - the "Volvo Rendezvous for Owners & Members" - are the Swedish Volvo clubs and Volvo Cars Heritage. The 2011 edition will be the 24th meeting since the start in 1987. In the true VROM-spirit, we will offer a packed program with interesting and exciting activities: including a study visit, family rally, car show, presentation of jubilee cars and convivial gatherings. The place is as previously, the Arendal area on Hisingen in Gothenburg, close to the Volvo Museum. See you at VROM 12th to 14th August 2011!

Dear Volvo friends!
Now it is time for some VROM information! We hope that you are looking forward to this year's VROM and that you are eager to know what we are doing. After 2010, a lot of things happened within the VROM organization. The VROM team now consists of representatives of almost all Swedish Volvo clubs like the PV Klubben, Amazonklubben, P1800-Klubben, 140-Klubben, 480-Klubben, 200-Klubben and 7/900 Klubben. All in all, we are 19 Volvo enthusiasts, including Volvo Cars Heritage and a representative of the Volvo Museum! With the integration of the major Swedish Volvo Clubs into the VROM committee we are now in the position to offer a much wider service to all Volvo enthusiasts. This new team shall be the guarantee for further interesting VROM in future. As to VROM 2011 we nearly finished the planning and we can already introduce the following rough "road map":
VROM Friday:
We will meet at Volvo Cars Demo Center, where the participants have the opportunity to test-drive new Volvo cars, such as XC60, S60 and V60. We have also planned a visit to Stora Holm, Volvo's former test site. Here, all participants have the opportunity to visit Volvo's old test facility and looking for clues when the P1800 and 140 series were crash-tested here. The site is located in Säve, north of the Volvo factory.
For the evening we have planned a special event: a "CRAB CRUISE" on the "MS TRUBADUR"! Departure is at Lilla Bommen in the heart of Gothenburg. The cruise will go along the Peninsula Hisingen. On this tour our famous and delicious west coast crabs will be served. For further entertainment music and a design lecture will be offered: The brothers Rolf and Håkan Malmgren will talk about their work in the Volvo design studios! This presentation will take place on the sun deck where there is a limited space for 80 persons only! We therefore ask all participants who are interested in this forum to sign up on our home page until May 25th, 2011 latest. Applications which arrive later than that day cannot be considered.
As an alternative we offer the restaurant deck where there is ample space to enjoy the boat trip and the beautiful west coast archipelago. At present we are trying to organize some vintage Volvo buses which will shuttle the participants from the Volvo Museum to Lilla Bommen.
VROM Saturday means family rally! This year the trip will lead us around the Lygnern Lake, with start and finish on the Lygnevi sports field in Sätila. The tour is about 80 km long and after the rally we will offer some catering service.
After the rally you have enough time to mingle with the other Volvo enthusiasts and enjoy all nice Volvo cars from all over Europe. We are confident that this will be a great day, because the route follows minor roads through the beautiful Swedish summer landscape! Below the sports field, there is a little beach and the pier for the steamer "Isa", on which you can take a tour over the Lygnern Lake. The day will end here on the Lygnevi sports field.
VROM Sunday is our traditional day for the exhibition - and the parts market. This year, we moved back closer to the Volvo Museum, the Volvo exhibition will be placed on the fenced area and the parts market will be next to it between the buildings and in front of the "Dockside" Restaurant. The restaurant is open for all participants and visitors of VROM and if the weather is fine, they will grill on the quay.
Already now we want to point out a major change that affects all those who want to exhibit their Volvo: the exhibition starts at 09:00 am and ends at 03:00 pm. All Volvo cars have to stay on the exhibition ground during this exhibition time, so that all visitors will have the chance to enjoy the cars. The exhibitors will be asked not to leave the exhibition ground before 3:00 pm. Those who will come later than 09:00 AM will be referred to another place outside the exhibition.
This year we also have some jubilees that we will honor with a special presentation: the Volvo P1800 will be 50 years old and the Volvo 850 will be 20 years old!
Besides that there will be further interesting performances, such as the voting of the Best Volvo Club.
The planning will continue during the spring. At the beginning of the summer we will have more information for you. This will also be place on our new home page www.vrom.org.

VROM is nu serieus op de kalender gezet.
Alle zweedse clubs en de Volvo heritage zijn nu bij de organisatie betrokken en dat is goed te merken.
De site heeft nu echt vorm en ook het programma heeft body gekregen.
Op de ALV van de 850club heb ik al geroepen dat het geweldig zou zijn als we met een grote groep 850-ers in Gothenburg acte-de-presence zouden geven.
In het kader van 20 jaar 850 en 10 jaar 850 club.
Een mooie uitstap met extraatjes die in het verleden er niet bij waren. Testdrives in de nieuwste modellen. Krab eten aan boord van een rondvaartboot, een prachtige tourtocht. etc. etc.
Zijn er mensen die er bij willen zijn?

Moet het nog even bekijken of ik daar wel aan toe kom dit jaar,was vorig jaar op vakantie in Zweden en heb het toen zo gepland dat ik dat weekend in Gotenburg was,maar zit dit jaar in Zuid-Duitsland dus maar even zien hoe ik dat doe.

Wij zijn al eerder die week in Zweden, gaan ook mee met de garnalenboot en de rondrit en natuurlijk zondag op het grote plein.

Wie gaan er allemaal mee?
VROM 2011 is weer voorbij. Ruud, Erwin, Daniel en wellicht nog wel meer van hier; 850/V70 liefhebbers, hebben het allemaal meegemaakt.
Ik heb 'een rolletje volgeschoten' en vanavond de wazige er uit gevist. Blijft over 720 foto's.
Op vrijdag was er de gezamelijke maaltijd en de lezing van de Malmgren brothers. Voor mij een avond om nooit te vergeten. Jammer dat de foto's het verhaal van de heren niet kunnen vertellen. In iedergeval staan de ontwerpen van Phase 2 en van het motorblok (ja, daar is ook uren aan ontwerp aan besteed) er tussen.
Op zaterdag was de rally zo'n 50km buiten Gotenborg. Ik heb de rally in omgekeerde volgorde gereden en onderweg wat Volvo's op de foto gezet.
Op zondag was de presentatie van de modellen en de markt met allerhande volvo zooi... ;-)
