Hello all dutch Volvo 850 lovers!
First of all, I would like to thank you for this interesting board! My knowledge in dutch is zero, but it seams like you are a good team of guys and girls!
I would like to show you my Volvo 850 T5 from 1997. It´s built for the US-market and returned home to Sweden with it´s owner in november 1999.
This is the reason why I bought it. I have since 2010 a 960 from 1995, also imported from USA. And when the blue T5 showed up, with a interesting history, and only one week between their return to Sweden in 1999 I could not resist. So both have the same letters in the registration number, only different digits.
From the scratch the car was a stock T5, but I found a 850R-interior, a bumper and a nice set of 17" Titan wheels. So now I feel the car is a bit better. There is still some work to do, the hood needs a respray for example. But that´s the plan for next winter.

Hello Björn!
Welcome here, the car looks great! 8)
Damn, that's a nice ride you've got there. The interior is very clean and looks as new. Did you lower the car, and if so, what kind of kit did you use?Looks great!
Nice to have a Swedish 850 on board! Have fun and keep posting!
Thanks guys!
Yes the interior is in quite good shape, some minor scratches on the leather on the left side of the drivers seat, as most of Volvos have. I used a wet vac on the seats, since it´s Alcantara and not suede it was possible, and it turned out perfect, and the water was brown/gray after, so there was a amount of dirt in the seats before.
Yes the car is lowered on the pics, sadly cutted springs. But the inspection did not like it, so now I have 60/40 springs on, sadly no pic for the moment. But I will post one the following days.
Thanks once again!
A stunningly beautiful color combination, I must say.
One of my favorites. Dark blue with beige.
And judging from the pictures, very nicely conserved!
What´s the car´s and engine´s mileage?
Welcome! All I can say about that interior: wow! :eusa_drool:
Welcome,
Really nice car you've got there!
Appart from the suspension any other upgrades in mind?
I'm also curious about the engine and mileage.
Be careful with the car it looks really good!

Thanks once again guys :)
The car has 134 000 miles on the clock, should be around 215000 km, and it has its dents and dings, but no rust from what I have seen.
The engine is original and stock, only upgrade is OEM strut bar from Volvo, I got it from a friend for around 60 euro, new never mounted. It was so easy to instal, but I really can´t tell if there is any difference, but it looks nice anyhow :D
I follow the forum via pictures and Google translate. By the way, do you often have meetings? I am quite new into 850, but I have driving Volvo since I was 18, and the interest is quite big here in Sweden, but 850 is on the bottom of their worth. To new to have as a enthusiast car, and many thinks it´s to old to have as a daily. But not me, I think it´s a perfect car!

Enough. Wanna come over? ;D
like the upcoming t-5r 20th anniversary for example... www.volvo850t-5r.com
Välkommen till forumet, du har vackra 854 :eusa_clap:
Welcome on the forum, your 854 seems to be in splendid condition :D We do often have meetings, for example the one Maruska linked ;D
Hi Bear,
Nice car you've got there..
I've been to Norway and Sweden the last 3 weeks for holiday and I've seen a lot of "older" Volvo's.
You can see that the guys in Sweden either just use it as an (old) car with all the dents and things or are really proud on it, having it in mint condition with nice rims an a bright shine!
The nicest one I've seen was in Göteborg on our way back last friday; I saw a laserblue 854 with a complete S/V/C front on it, amazing!
Be proud and enjoy your Swedisch car! As so do we! ;)
Welcome! Where do you live in sweden? I've got some friends in Varmland.
Hi Bjorn, welcome and you have a nice car.
Hi Bjorn nice ride.
We're do you live in Sweden?
Thanks, my cheeks starts to blush :D
I live in Göteborg, hometown of Volvo as probably many of you know, and the 850 is built here to.
It would be lovely to join your meetings, for the moment I have a new job and a lot of education before I can take off, my holiday this summer was meant to be spend on four wheels in Europe with start in Liége to participate at IVM.
But I still hope I can join VROM here in Göteborg 22-24/8, some of you who plan to attend? http://www.vrom.org

In that case, there are two forum members near you:

Tjena Björn, var bor du någonstans? Känner inte igen var bilderna är tagna men jag kan gissa att det är KBA-pendeln / Kållered. Jag själv bor inte långt därifrån - Anneberg. Jag kör dock ingen 850, fast cabben ;)
<edit> eller, är det röda ormen i backgrunden?
and for this, we have google translate ;D
joh, daar kom je toch wel uit Marc... Bor is wonen ;)
marK... K... ;D
Yeah, let's try and not confuse everyone any further by mixing Swedish into this topic as well ;-)
Anyway: Tjena :)
I live in Olofstorp, just on the edge of Göteborgs kommun (I can see the sign from here :D).
Like viking_in_shorts I don't have an 850 anymore (he's got a C70, I moved on to an S60 D5) but I still enjoy seeing them in such great nick as yours.
It's rare to see them treated well here in Sweden, most people rather spend their time and money on older Volvos such as the 1 and 2 series.
I have to return to this board more often. But this is better than nothing ;)
I live in Central Gothenburg, and the pictures is taken close to Gamlestadens fabriker, where we have a lovely ice cream factory :D So quite close to Röde Orm, that´s right Viking_in_shorts!
It´s funny to see I am not the only swedish member, maybe one day we can have a little dutch Volvo 850 forum meeting in Göteborg!
Any of you guys who are going to Rosmalen and Autotron 27-28/9? I will be there, it´s part of my late holiday.
/Björn
I will be there with my 855R Björn, see you there.
