Here are reasons I think it could NOT have been the following:

Satalite: it was glowing red, satalites usually appear white like a fast moving star. Sure you can see the moon and it also sometimes appears red, but the moon is also MUCH farther away and usually appears red when its lower because of the angle the light radiats and bounces from the earth's atmosphere, this red thing was up high in the sky. Plus it seemed to slow down a couple of times and change a slight direction which is why it could be the floating chinese lantern.

Plane: like I mentioned, I saw 2 other planes fly infront of it and past it, I couldn't judge the difference in height, but the red/orange ball was much bigger and seemed almost as high.

Meteor: no tail

Here's a pic I made in photoshop trying to show what I saw: I also put two red dots representing the plane I saw flying by as well, thats what it pretty much looked like in comparison to the stars, planes and what have you, only thing wrong with this picture is that it was completely pitch black last night, there was no sunlight or hue left at all.

Heb het gister gezien net als de photoshop van Barry,leek een satteliet maar was wel vrij rond en hoogte klopte wel met een satteliet maar de oranje gloed die het ding had?

hmmm... kreeg zaterdag een foto doorgestuurd van iemand die op Texel iets bijzonders gezien had, zal straks wel ff posten.

Clarkson had toch gelijk...

Inderdaad, heb het vanmorgen ook gelezen en moest gelijk aan deze topic denken.
Toch leuke ballonnetjes dat je er zelfs de krant mee haalt 

Deze is midden in de nacht  boven Texel gezien... Geen geluid, wel de lampjes, soms knipperend dan weer doordraaiend...

Lijkt wel een gaspit

Zat gisteravond ff sterren, kometen en satellieten te kijken rond 23:50, toen kwam er ook een zeer helder licht over, was denk ik de ISS, de Shuttle was rond dat tijdstip nog niet gelanceerd.
