WTF!!! Yes, I am considering selling Sharon, my beloved Saffron T5. The smart money says I should, but everything else tells me I would be heartbroken and an idiot for doing so.

My reason? Where should I start! Well for starters I have the opportunity for a lease car, a piece-o-crap-whatever with a 1.who-cares engine, but the point is that that would obviously be a great financial asset with the all the costs being taken care of including gas/fuel. I love my car but everytime I put a full tank in and see the price tag I cringe and wonder wtf! Waking up in the morning and going to work or anywhere for that matter is a joy in my Volvo and I get a rush from modifying it from the big things like exhausts, to the tiny things like a tiny T5 emblem on the side. And yet, 800 euro for a DP could so easily be spent on other things, right?

I cry a little inside thinking of what life would be like without my baby and I know that every time I saw another C70 I would die a little inside, God forbid I see a Saffron C70, cuz then I would bust out in tears with no room for shame! But these are different times right? Even the Black eyed C70 from Finland was sold because the owner couldn't carry the costs any longer.

And its not like the car doesn't run great! It does! But the tiny squeeks and tweeks, the tiny bit loose this or that, I wish I had a slightly newer car sometimes, something I would get from the company even if I could fit the damn thing in my pocket

Then again, I would smile a little at the gas station, and at the end of every month I wouldn't frown knowing that 3/4 of my pay was going towards the car, because so much of it is already taken by our wonderful government to pay for those wonderful people who don't have the balls to get their own job.

So, what to do? what to do? Talk me into it, talk me out of it, ffs, even make me an offer! In any case just talk to me because I think I need a hug! 

De lease-auto alleen zakelijk rijden en de C70 voor in het weekend? Spaart een hoop kilometers, centen en de auto

Gewoon LPG erin en lekker blijven rijden. 
Overigens is "nieuwe" auto na een half jaar ook weer gewoon een gebruikte met rammeltjes en kraakjes.
Reken het allemaal maar eens helemaal goed door, het verschil met een lease auto/ bijtelling is niet zo groot als je denkt.

Banaantje gaat ook voor geen goud weg! Lease nu een Touran en doe dat inderdaad met kilometer registratie zonder bijtelling. Scheelt toch zo'n 400 euro in de maand, en daar rij ik met groot gemak een T-5R en GLT voor in de maand.

Ik doe dat dus ook. Is wat mij betreft een prima optie.

Mss is a bit less modifying aan Sharon ook een goed idee? Na aanschaf van de mijne heb ik wat kleine dingetjes laten doen bij M a r c, maar daarna alleen regulier onderhoud. Maar mss is dit juist half (or more..)the fun for you?

Alleen hiervoor mag je hem niet weg doen. Ik heb nieuwe R-emblemen en snap je gevoel precies.

LPG erin en de kilometers declareren, is dat een optie (doe ik met mijn R).
Anders het leaseding alleen zakelijk gebruiken, zodat je ook de 25% bijtelling niet krijgt (daar kun je heel wat van knutselen).

Kan me alleen maar aansluiten bij de rest

Blijf Sharon lekker prive rijden, modificeer wat als je er zin in hebt en een hobby mag geld kosten !! (Plezier in je hobby is ook value for money).
Scheelt je in de bijtelling, de C70 schiet minder hard omhoog in z'n kilometers, je blijft je hobby/liefde houden en het enige dat het je feitelijk meer kost is schrijfwerk. En voor dat laatste zijn ook mooie oplossingen.

Gezin en huishouden gaan voor.

Later als je echt in je midlife crisis zit kan je nog altijd een motor of een cabrio kopen om het verlies van sharon te verwerken.

de C70 NIET WEGDOEN BARRY!!!!!!!  gewoon de leaseauto erbij en de C70 voor in het weekend!!!!! want bij een leaseauto kan je zelf niks meer modificeren en bij je C70 wel

Well, having done some rough and then detailed calculations, turns out that I make back quite a bit on zakelijke kms, enough anyway to cover the costs of keeping Sharon, and in any case, a decision like selling her would never come easy or soon so I've decided to do things this way with km vergoeding for at least a year and see how that pans out. And Rudy is right with modding the car, perhaps slowing down the process some and work on the finer details will be good, and Marco, yeah, with the amount of privé km I drive, the 25% pretty much makes it pointless. I could have a C30 2.0D but then I'd have to pay more because its slightly outside my budget and then some for the private trips I take, and I'd always have to leave sooner because it would take twice as long to get anywhere!

I appreciate the feedback everyone. Moment of weakness I suppose! close call, but I'm through the tunnel
