Hi

my car has a broken engine, after some thinks happened.

if the problem will be small, then i will give the volvo a second chance, if not i will sell the car.

so i had one question about the turbo (injectors) and the software ...

here is my setup

http://www.volvo850forum.nl/index.php/topic,28326.30.html

can i go for smaller injectors and let the ecu remap for less power with the t19, or is it better to change the turbo?

t16 or t18 ?

my problem after the engine brake, was the fuel...

car has take after new software (Fasttech) 12L on 100 km @ 347hp and 470 nm

then i had only problems...

after that car has go for 23-25 L @ 100km and the funny think is that you could drive normal or fast. over 20L was always...

or i ask it otherwise,

which is the best setup (turbo, injectors, software [mte, bsr, fasttech...] ?)to have a allday / everyday car with 10-12L on 100 km about 300-330 hp without no fucking engine problems?

greetings david

If fuel consumption changes it's likely to be a sensor issue. Lambda or MAF, probably lambda. Driving normally there is no reason for fuel consumption to change with different injectors. The software has nothing to do with such insane consumption.

But here comes the funny thing....

i have change the maf from a 850R with 170tkm and fasttech has change the lambda, because i have buy a new one (after the turbo brake in 2008 )  and it was not a bosch.
so fasttech has change me mine to a bosch.

and now?

maybe i buy the maf and lambda new, but my feeling says it could be a other problem, but i dont know what a kind....

*edit*

i dont have any problem to write what i have pay for all this...
i mean what makes a good deal?

(half year ago) to spend 1000eur @ fasttech and get a car what maybe is not slow, but goes 23+L @ 100km?

(two months ago) or give 1200eur for a tramsmission change (only for the change....)
and get a car back with a engine damage?

any people dont have to  tell me what is good or not.
trust me, so much negativ experience what i have make in the whole years with cars, have no one....

people always want to get much and fast money.
what the customer get is a other story and not so important.....

19T, K&N replacement filter, IC, R-manifold, 3" DP, 350cc injectors, Fasttech software --> 350hp!
19T, K&N replacement filter, IC, 350cc injectors, RICA software --> 330hp

To name just 2 cars.

Mine: 10-11ltr per 100km, lots more than 350hp...

Is this the real fuel consumption measured by dividing the kms with the liters fuel at the gas station, or is this what the board computer displays?

Driving normally the car must do 14.7 AFR when not making any boost. That's simply a given. If you are getting 23-25L/100Km it would be doing 9-10 AFR. That is not the tuning, or the other hardware, there must be a problem with the measurements the ECU gets from sensors.

Hi

i go to the station.

make the car full and then i drive.

the BC shows about 9-10 L

the km goes up to 280-max 300km  (not BC)

and the gas gauge shows empty.....

i think its real, because the money for the gas in summer fly away :)....

more then a e39 m5 if you had fun :D

i dont have anything about fasttech or other persons...

but 2009 i dont have to much luck with the volvo....

after fasttech mapping i have drive the car with 12L in town....
but this has not hold so long...

i hope i will find the problem, if the engine prob is not to expensive...

the other thing is, it makes no fun only invest money in one thing, to get cheated by everyone and the car stays in this year about 9 month....

and when i see the videos from other person which drive the same setup and have no one problem, this is what i dont understand.....

greetings David

*edit*

@ the begins when i went back from fasttech, the car always has black smoke if i stand for example @ the lights and wait....
maybe the afr is to rich...

all the parts which my car has are new T19 Turbo, 3" DP, 3" exhaust, injectors, intercooler, IPD RIP kit......

With a transmission change a lot needs to be dismounted from the car. Since you are stating that the car ran well initially after receiving it back from Fasttech it appears something went wrong after the transmission change.

Did you check fault codes?

JCviggen

If you have black smoke standing still then you're dumping fuel. Again, its not the ECU's fault (you cant program it to do that even if you wanted to) so you have another problem.

@ Johann

no the problem was before too...

after the transmission story the engine has makes noises because the much boost.
the mechanic dont have any idea about engines and cars.

@ jan

i always go for min 98oktan... since i have buy the car i only super +
but it have dont make any difference between ultimate, v power or 98 oktan (jet).... with the black smoke and many fuel problem...

before i get all the canges i have established  that with ultimate i make a few kms more then with other fuel.

JCviggen

The fuel grade is certainly not the problem either, no point trying that! :)

I guess you need a mechanic who does know what he's doing...

i mean i have do the most things on my car, by my own...

but in this time i was with other 5 people in a big hall...

after some bad things happened, i have leave the place and then i have give the car to persons...
bad idea...

i dont have the space here to do it on the street and the weather here is bad too...

the engine would be do people with knowledge, but the stuff around the engine i can try too :)

problem is that i hear to much on other people and then such things happen...

Mach es dieses mal gleich gut... also lass den Motor durch ein guter Mechaniker oder Firmen reparieren.

Do it right this time... so have the engine re-built done by a proper mechanic.  Otherwise you may end up again with problems and extra costs eventually.  Do it good or don't do it all I would suggest.
