Volvo V70 vs Kia Sportage

Dit arme kind komt uit die Renault. Wordt met stoeltje (nou ja...... stoeltje.....) en al op de brancard gezet. 

Had ik nog niet eens gezien maar gelukkig zat ze nog in een stoeltje. Soms zie je mensen kinderen vervoeren op een manier waar ik persoonlijk knap pissig om kan worden Gister ook op de snelweg, mams op de linkerbaan in d'r Opel Corsa met 140 km/h door redelijk druk spitsverkeer, op de achterbank 2 zoontjes van ik schat een jaar of 4 die heerlijk aan het spelen waren, over elkaar heen rolden, met autootjes over de hoedenplank reden... ik wil niet weten hoe die kinderen er aan toe zijn bij een frontale aanrijding.

Overigens is de klap bij 70 km/h tegen een stilstaand object vaak al dermate hard dat het soms dodelijk is.
Binnenkort gaan we testen bij TNO in Delft met 100 km/h tegen een stilstaand object voor afstudeeropdracht, benieuwd wat voor rotklap dat gaat geven. Schrok me bij 70 km/h vorig jaar al half dood

Moeders was er het slechtst aan toe; je wilt niet weten hoe het is om je kinderen te horen krijsen als ze tegen hun wil op een brancard getaped worden...

This is one of the top reasons why I drive a Volvo. It's been PROVEN SO MANY TIMES that our brand of cars will stand up better than any other when it comes to an accident.

It doesn't matter who caused the accident, at the end of they day, they happen and the chances of the person who caused the accident to be in worse condition is just as high. The whole "driving an SUV because they're stronger and safer" is just bull. Look for crash test of huge cars like Chevrolet Suburbands, Ford Explorers, GMC Denalis, Lincoln Navigator, etc, etc, they fall to PIECES when in a head-on collision at not even 40 miles an hour. Yes those are all American brand SUV's, not sure about European brands, but this thread shows how Asian SUV's don't stand withstand an impact that well either; Look at that D pillar!!! Thats just been torn in half!!! What about in a rollover?! I'd hate to see pictures from an accident like that!!!

That being said, when and if I ever have kids of my own, when I get a Volvo to drive them around in, I'll be sure to put them in an XC90 or S80 for the stronger and safety feature (S80 because I don't like the prone to roll-over feature SUVs have)
