I can bring you an English - Dutch dictionary, so you can start practising... ;)
By the way, no pictures? ;D
Hi there , bear with me my dutch is prcatically non-existent. I bought the car in 2004 with about 65k kms on the clock (not sure if it was genuine or not) , when we were going to live in Spain, but after a couple of family problems we have stayed in the UK. The car originated from Saudi Arabia (full history) and was imported by the guy who had it in Saudi, to the UK in 1999. So I think I am 2/3 owner depending how you look at it. I now prefer driving left hand drive cars. Since then I have had it RICA'd 304 ECU map, Koni FSD/Eibach and Strut Brace and also had the windows tinted limo black. It has a sunroof/climate control, and 7 seat conversion and I have some dark anthracite (zwart/antraciet) comet 17" wheels to refurbish and put back on it.....I have had it only serviced by specialists in the UK, as one Volvo guy didn't know his stuff when he did a service, he ordered the 10v plug leads on instead of the 20v ones!
I have got a couple of pictures from a couple of years back when I was going to sell it........who knows I may sell it to one of you guys eventually??

Too bad about the roofrails. :-\
Dank u zeer
Nice car. Hope you only need those jump cables to assist others ;)
Nice Car!
It's a unique one in the UK i think.
Good to hear that there is at least one Englishman with a bit of common sense and prefers left hand drive cars.
Enjoy your Volvo, they're boxy, but there good!
very nice care :eusa_clap:

Thanks, it was how this car was designed in left hand drive. I reserve judgement on Japanese and British cars though.....
Not so unique being white in the UK, but LHD yes, all motorway police cars from 1994/5 to current use/have used Volvo 850/V70's mainly in white, some undercover ones in different colours. They are switching to BMW diesels now.

Hey their English is better than my Dutch!
Noticed the smiley?
It just reminded me about a little comedy book called: "I always get my sin (http://taal.paginablog.nl/taal/2005/11/i_always_get_my_sin_1.html)".
That's a book about hilarious English sentences spoken by (famous) Dutch people.
By the way, your Dutch is good enough to find your way to this forum and manage to post your introduction topic into the appropriate board.

Welcome to the board Badger.
Great color the 850 has got. What can I say... I've got the same :)
How did you find this board, I mean, it isn't really common that a UK-Volvo driver ends-up on a dutch board.
(not that you're any less welcome :D )
Well RICA is dutch, yes? And I know there is a bigger 850 following in the Netherlands than in Germany, France or Italy. Maybe I am wrong, but at least I found you guys out of it. There is a big following in the UK, www.volvot5.co.uk and www.t5d5.org. There is also a big following in the states www.swedespeed.com, http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/ and in austrailia even http://au.geocities.com/ozbrick850/ . These latter ones are superb for helping solve any problems that come up.
There is lots to learn about the best estate car ever made.

Goed zo Babybadger.

You figured it out , google translate actually, but does it matter , so I wont get the Dutch jokes, but at least I am taking the time to test myself in relatively unspoken language in th UK.

U stelde het voor uit, google vertaal eigenlijk, maar het is van belang, zodat zal ik niet de Nederlandse grappen krijgen, maar minstens verg ik de tijd om in vrij onuitgesproken taal in Th het UK te testen.

But you get the rough idea of what is being said, no?
