Hello, My name is Lucas and it's very early in the morning here. I've used your site to dig up some articles on repair and build type things. There was high powered V70R here that especially caught my interest, so I thought I would say hello.
I have a 1998 V70R AWD. It came into this world as they all did in the US. 2.3L, 16T turbo, and automatic. Unfortunately, we didn't get the option for a manual here in the states. Thus began my quest to make this car a bit more like I thought it should have been.
So... onto the car. It has a 2.5L from a 2007 S60, and a six speed manual transmission from a 2005 V50.
(Hallo, Mijn naam is Lucas en het is heel vroeg in de ochtend hier. Ik heb gebruik gemaakt van uw site op te graven een aantal artikelen over reparatie en het soort dingen op te bouwen. Er was een hoge powered V70R hier dat vooral mijn interesse gevangen, dus ik dacht dat ik zou zeggen hello.

Thank you for the warm welcome! As for HP... I'd say that car is around 275 at the moment. Stock tune, turbo, and intercooler. Which leads me to one of my questions of what to do next in terms of turbo. I have thought about the K24 from the S60R, and that would be fine to put me well over 300... but I keep having this feeling a Holset HX35 is in order.

To be honest... I'm cheating and do not know Dutch. However, seeing that your forum is far from all in english, it would be very stereotypically american of me to expect everyone to conform to the use of english. The plates are legal registration plates. (De platen zijn wettelijke registratie platen.)

Stock motronic 4.4 It runs as though the 2.3 is still in there. The flow on the RN(2.5) head is about 20% better than the N(2.3).
(Stock Motronic 4.4 Het loopt alsof de 2.3 is er nog steeds in. De stroming van de RN (2.5) kop ongeveer 20% beter dan de N (2.3).

Actually... it's a fairly straight forward replacement. Some minor modifications have to me be made... and I'm still ironing out the fuel system. The metal lines are tight against the larger timing cover... so I'm replacing with custom lines soon.
A common question that I'll answer ahead of time is "What about the dual VVT?" Answer... for now it's left unplugged until we create a controller of some sorts. That's way down the road. You can swap in VVT or dual VVT motors and just leave them be. They run great! :)
(Eigenlijk ... het is een vrij makkelijk te vervangen. Enkele kleine aanpassingen moet me worden gemaakt ... en ik ben nog steeds strijken uit het brandstofsysteem. De metalen lijnen zijn strak tegen de grotere distributiekap ... dus ik vervangen met aangepaste lijnen binnenkort.
Een veel voorkomende vraag die ik van tevoren te beantwoorden is 'Hoe zit het met dual VVT? "Antwoord ... voor nu is het er over is gehaald totdat we een controller van een aantal soorten. Dat is veel op de weg. U kunt wisselen in de VVT of dual VVT motoren en gewoon laten hen. Ze lopen geweldig! :)

Thanks. The m66c gearbox did fit right on to the 2.3L that the car originally had. I'm using a stock 2004 S60R clutch, dual mass flywheel, and pressure plate. Bent a rod right away... and shortly thereafter was when the 07 motor was installed. I didn't know much about the benefits of the RN motor until swapping one in... and there isn't really a bad thing I could say about it.
The paint was a temporary fix... as it is chalkboard paint. A hit at car shows... but it's showing that it doesn't weather too well, especially in the winter here and following my friend's oil slick of an S70 T5M. :D

I'm planning to do the same thing, I know that it fits without a problem, but I only need to find the right pieces (gear lever, cables, etc). Did you use them all from that V50?
