Okay guys, hate to say it, but the chances of me going to the US to complete my thesis and continue working these seem to grow each and every week. I'm looking to move back to Houston to do a 6 month internship with Shell and then there's a big chance that I'll probably end up staying there. If you've read my recent rant in the verbaasd thread, you'll understand a little more why this works out best for me.

But I'm bringing Sharon with me! With only 150 Saffron C70's only ever imported to the US and about 149 of them are automatics, there's no way I'm selling or leaving my baby behind.

So does anyone have an experience with shipping cars to the US ? Know of a good company who can take care of all the paperwork and check ups that need to happen before the car becomes legalized for US roads?

Any help is apprecaited!

Na dinsdag weet ik je wel wat meer te vertellen. Dan heb ik gesproken met iemand die zijn Amazon naar de US heeft laten verschepen om daarmee de Route 66 te rijden. Zal wel eens vragen wie dat heeft geregeld!

C'mon guys, we all know women are far more influencial and powerful than we'd like to give them credit for (cue Claudia and Ingrid)

It really isn't (all) for a woman. I've been offered a potentially great opportunity to work for Shell in the US, the same position here in Holland doesn't pay half as much. But the chick issue becomes more settled if I go. I've started thinking that the reason ANY guy stays friends with a girl is because of potential HOPE of something happening. that leads towards the danger of hoping for a very very long time.

Besides, plenty of opportunities left for some meetings and I'll be the first 850Forum sticker in across the pond

Je hebt DOT-approved lichten nodig (koplampen).

I have US headlights with the amber corners, so they are DOT approved, nice try though

Nee, maar die heldere knipperlichten zijn altijd met de oranje relflector, maar je hebt wel degelijk Europese heldere koplampen (met dubbele H7), de US lampen hebben een DOT markering (zowel matte als heldere) en gebruiken H11 dacht ik.

I think the only difference is the relay where fogs switch off if hi-beams are on and the signal lights are on all the time. I think if I look hard enough on them that I'll find a DOT imprint on my headlights somewhere.
