waarschijnlijk staat in je voorwaarden dat je na 30 dagen je geld krijgt en geen eigenaar meer bent. Maar met de markt nu raken zij de auto ook niet kwijt dus heb je nog best een kansje.

If I get it back and there's only a few hundred miles on it, that would be groovy (And I would totally do an inspection), but once the insurance cuts a check to me, I don't know what happens if it's found after that.

My car was found on a parking place in a village about 30 km's from my hometown. People called the police when it was standing there for two weeks. The only things that were missing was my I-pod, and my Parrot car kit all the papers were still inside.

Just before I got my car back, I bought an S70 R which I still own. The 850 R is was bought by a friend of mine who is not driving it now. (it's stored in a barn)

After 30 days normally your insurance will pay; your insurance will call when the vehicle is recovered later on. You then still have a choice in buying back the car (minus damage-costs when all-risk insurance) and always get a chance getting your personal stuff back which might be in or on the vehicle.

In some cases the 30 days are extended for longer investigation, mostly when there are clues which indicate the car will be returned in a short notice or if the insurance can give reasonable doubt on the circumstances around the theft (like: stolen without keys from a closed area on the back of a house where only the owner has the key and all locks seem unharmed. Smells like fraude.).

Thanks everyone for their concern, I just wanted to give an update.

As of now,  no one has seen the car and the police have nothing new.  In the next few days my insurance will be sending me a check which will cover the cost of the car and some of the cost of the modifications, so I am completely happy with the result (all things considered).  Since I'm not sure if I'll be here past the fall, I'm holding off on buying a new toy until I know more.  After seeing how the 850's run at The Ring, i would really like to get one for a few years of fun.

Yes they are.  Both are fantastic.  I'm sure Marc's car is a monster and just a joy to drive. And Zippo's looks good too. Hopefully there will be some good ones available in the fall.. It would be great to own one of those for a few years.

**UPDATE**  The car (as verified with the GJIB photo) has been seen between Utrecht and Rotterdam.  It received two tickets from the 28th of May and June 1st.  The car is still in the country and in the Rotterdam area (how wild is that).

The Police have been notified about it and are putting notes into their daily briefings.

Nice to know it's still on the road, this gives some hope of recovering it sooner or later.

This weekend i'll be somewhat in that region, and will send the data to some friends of mine in that region. Hopefully the car is spotted by the right persons or stopped by the police.
