10 points for anyone who guesses what the problem is:

I added some koelvloeistof today and the stink that came out of the reservoir was the same stink that comes out of the vents when I turn on the heater. Coincidentally, when I turn on the heater, all the windows and especially the windshield condense up with a sort of oily water which doesn't simply go away when I turn on the cold windshield evaporator.

So it seems like the coolant is somehow getting into the vents. Is there a leak or something broken?

Seems your radiator in the interior is leaking, or maybe some of the connections. Check your carpets in the front foot bay, are they wet? If so, start looking for the cause by removing the lower left and right covers under your dash. Take a look in the middle (from left and right) and check for any leaks (drops of coolant anywhere).

To find out if the head gasket is blown, which is less likely with volvo but you never know, go to a garage with a device to 'sniff' your coolant. This is a way to determine if there are any engine fumes in your coolant.

De "stank" zou zoetig moeten ruiken. Dat is koelvloeistof.
Maar inderdaad, de symptomen lijken te duiden op een lekke kachelradiateur.

Ik heb het zelf bij de TDI gehad en ook gezien bij anderen. Komt veel voor volgens mij. vervangen is gelukkig maar een uurtje en wees slim; zet er geen imitatie in, maar een BEHR (/HELLA)

Nieuwe monteren. Waarschijnlijk zie je ook leksporen bij de tunnel als je de matten weg haalt. Zit helemaal onderin het dashboord bij de kacheluitstroomopening voor je voeten. Succes met vervangen.

Nee niet echt. Het beste kun je de kachelradiator gewoon vervangen. Er bestaat wel spul dat een lek in de radiator kan dichten, maar dat kun je beter neit gebruiken omdat het dan ook in de motor gaat zitten.

t KAN ook alleen een afsluitringetje zijn waar hij op lekt bij het radiateurtje zelf. even een inspectie doen. paneel bij de bestuurderskant weghalen en dan zie je het met wat kruip en sluipwerk zitten. maar die kans is klein.....

De radiator kost net 8 tientjes, de ringetjes zowat niets en het is goed een uurtje werk wat iedereen prima kan.

Of je koelvloeistof in je ruitensproeier reservoir gedaan en probeert fanatiek die vette waas van je raam te wassen.....
Maar dat zal wel niet. Zo stom is niemand.

terwijl de dealer zegt het complete dashboard ( van horen zeggen ) te moeten uitbouwen    en je ipv een paar tientjes enkele 100 tjes verder bent!
